November 9th
at noon CEST we will have our third event and the topic that will be covered is Freedom of Expression. The same as two previous events on Data Protection and Cyber Security, this event will also present participants with an opportunity to deepen their knowledge on the topic it tackles and to discuss it with members from other organizations. We hope to see you on the 9th of November!

Three educational videos covering topics Data Protection, Cyber Security and Freedom of Expression are in the process of production and will be made in Serbian, Albanian and Macedonian languages.

Open Data Kosovo (ODK) is a civic-tech, non-profit organization that recognizes the importance of technology in contributing towards good governance and social good. A main focus within ODK’s work is collaboration with public institutions in increasing transparency and strengthening integrity through the use of open data. Working as a laboratory that provides mentoring and training programs, ODK’s key pillar is providing capacity building and skills development for young people in the field of technology. ODK is also one of the leading organizations in Kosovo to pilot projects on the digitization of services, hereby promoting digital engagement and active citizenship.

ODK’s projects include fostering open data, youth empowerment, accompanied by the development of data-driven digital solutions. Currently, ODK is implementing a regional project “
Increasing Civic Engagement in the Digital Agenda”
, aiming to engage CSOs from the Western Balkans in shaping and implementing the Digital Agenda. Additionally, the project “
Initiative for Open and Good Governance
” aims to increase the level of openness and good governance of Kosovo’s institutions – promoting transparency and integrity. In line with these efforts, ODK has developed numerous digital solutions, one of them being
Kosovo Trust Building

a platform unifying the initiatives and efforts of international organizations and civil society to advance trust-building in Kosovo.

“Zašto ne” is a civil association (CA) formed in 2001 with a main goal of creating a safe, efficient and responsible society in Bosnia and Herzegovina. We aim to achieve our goals through increasing civic participation, influencing government accountability and promoting the use of new technology. We often operate in partnership with other stakeholders including formal and informal groups, organizations, institutions and individuals from the country and the region.

Main projects within our organisation include online fact-checking platforms
Istinomjer
– dedicated to fact-checking statements and tracking promises of public officials and political parties,
Raskrinkavanje
– fact-checking media and social media content, fighting disinformation and increasing media literacy,
Javna rasprava
– an “open parliament” type of platform facilitating public debate and communication of citizens with their elected representatives.
Raskrinkavanje is also one of the founding members of SeeCheck, a network of platforms engaged in fact-checking and fighting against disinformation in Southeast Europe. Zašto ne is also a member of the Action SEE network, which has been publishing the
Index of Opennes of public institutions
in the region for years.
Our organisation is known for consistent promotion of the use of new technologies in civic activism, which drove us to the creation of
POINT conference
– a leading conference on political accountability and technology in the region, entering its tenth year.
